4 Selectable Resolutions 256 uStep Resolution Max Resonance Compensated 7 Amps, 80 Volts Auto Current Reduction Fault Protected |
The CN0162 is for use with most size 23 and size 34 step motors. It is compensated for mid-band instability, allowing reliable operation at full power at all speeds. Four user selectable microstep resolutions are available. Microstepping virtually eliminates low speed vibration while adding useful motor resolution.
A wide power supply voltage and phase current range makes the CN0162 ideal for any motor and level of performance. A unique "fill" circuit smoothly modifies motor current from sinusoidal at low speeds to a square wave at high speeds for maximum power. The chopper frequency is proportional to the power supply voltage, which helps reduce motor heating due to ripple current iron losses at higher supply voltages.
A high efficiency all n-channel MOSFET output stage and a low current consumption circuit design minimizes drive heating. Short-circuit and over-temperature detection protects the drive and your motor from damage. Automatic standby current circuitry helps reduce motor heating while the motor is stopped. Trimpot tuning of phase currents allow precise positioning at high microstep resolutions.
Robust circuit design and an epoxy encapsulated package contributes to a reliable and rugged step motor drive.
