8 Selectable Resolutions 256 uStep Resolution Max Resonance Compensated 10 Amps, 80 Volts Auto Current Reduction Fault Protected Low Motor Heating |
The CN0165 is for use with most size 23, 34 and size 42 step motors. Intended for high speed applications, it features an advanced low iron loss switching circuit that minimizes motor heating at high supply voltages. This dramatically reduces motor temperatures when the motor is stopped or turning slowly.
The CN0165 is compensated for mid-band instability, allowing reliable operation at full power at all speeds. 8 user selectable microstep resolutions are available. Microstepping virtually eliminates low speed motor vibrations, while adding useful motor resolution. A unique "fill" circuit smoothly transitions the drive from microstepping at low speeds to full step operation at high speeds to extract the maximum performance from your motor. A tuning trimpot adjusts motor phase currents for precise positioning at high microstep resolutions.
Short-circuit and over-temperature detection protects the drive and your motor from damage. An automatic standby current reduction further reduces motor heating while the motor is stopped. The standby current is trimpot settable from 0 to 100% of the running current. A high efficiency all n-channel MOSFET output stage and a low current consumption circuit design minimizes drive heating.
